FDL Fire Rescue Receive International Accreditation

The long process for international accreditation came to a successful conclusion Thursday morning when Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue received that accreditation. Chief Peter O’Leary says it means meeting rigorous standards that less than 200 other civilian fire departments in the U.S. have met. He says the people they protect deserve the best that the department can give them. He says word spread quickly on social media and City staff was informed right away. He says the department appreciates the support. Fond du Lac was one of three Wisconsin fire departments to receive the accreditation. Wauwatosa and North Shore got it as well. Chief O’Leary says they will work with other Wisconsin fire departments to help them through the accreditation process. Assistant Chiefs Steve Beer and Todd Janquart, and City Manager Joe Moore were also in Atlanta, Georgia for the awarding of accreditation. Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue photos.
