FDL Firefighters Local 400 Presents Big Check To The MDA

Fond du Lac Firefighters Local 400 presented its biggest check yet to the Muscular Dystrophy Association during Wednesday night’s City Council meeting. Proceeds from the Fill the Boot fundraiser came to more than $23,151. The union’s Fill the Boot coordinator Andrew Aird presented the check to Murphy Maes of MDA. He says the money pays for all sorts of things including wheelchairs and equipment, a summer camp for children, and research into treatment and a cure for muscular disorders. Three children suffering from muscular disorders were there for the check presentation (Carter, Mateo and Javier). Aird thanked those who had a hand in raising the funds including KFIZ, 107.1 The Bull, A & W and Air Tech for their involvement in Fill the Boot. He also believes that the Fond du Lac Fire Department raised more money for MDA than any other department in the state through the effort.
