FDL Man, Accused Of Attacking Officer, Ruled Competent To Stand Trial

A January 13, 2022 incident left a City of Fond du Lac Police Officer injured.

Now, the man allegedly responsible for injuring the officer, has been found competent to stand trial.

Jayson Keniston will be in court March 25 for an initial hearing, facing multiple charges that include battery to an officer.

The incident occurred on Merrill Avenue, with Officer Marcus Clapper responding to a disturbance call at the 2nd floor apartment. Clapper, a 4-year veteran of the force, was in the hallway of the apartment when Keniston attacked him, breaking his nose and causing a number of other injuries.

The 44-year old Keniston, from Fond du Lac, was in jail on $25,000 bond.
