A Fond du Lac man has been arrested in Dyersville. 21-year old Dammahum A. Gibson was arrested on warrants for First-Degree Intentional Homicide-Attempt, First-Degree Reckless Endangering Safety and 3 Counts of Bail Jumping. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office had received information that Gibson was in Dyersville, west of Dubuque, IA. Dysersville Police Department and Dubuque Drug Task Force, along with the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department arrested Gibson outside a home in the 800 block of 7th Avenue SE.

Court documents show that Gibson shot multiple times at a man from his vehicle on the night of May 21 in Fond du Lac. The two men were reportedly involved in an ongoing dispute. As a retaliatory response, Vincent R. Riddle, 28, of Fond du Lac, brother of the person that Gibson fired at, shot 17 times at Gibson’s vehicle and two others that were with it. There were no injuries reported as a result of the shootings.

Riddle was subsequently arrested on three counts of felony first-degree recklessly endangering safety, felony reckless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of bail jumping. A nationwide warrant for Gibson’s arrest was issued June 3. He is at the Dubuque County Jail, and will be transported back to Wisconsin.
