FDL Man Charged For Knife Incident At School

The 54-year-old Fond du Lac man who tried to stab another
parent at Evans Elementary School Wednesday afternoon was charged in Fond du Lac
County Court Friday. Bond was set a $10,000 cash for Leonard Dake who was chared
with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of a dangerous weapon
at a school, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer. According to the
criminal complaint Dake was confronted at the school by another parent, an
off-duty Fond du Lac firefighter and paramedic ,about a reckless driving
incident the day before. Dake allegedly pulled a knife and during the
confrontation lunged at the other man three times. However no one was injured
during the incident. When police arrived Dake refused to get out of his car and
fearing for his own safety and children who were starting to get out of school
tan officer used a stun gun on Dake. Police found two knives in his pants and
others in his car. Dake is the grandparent of a child that attends Evans. A
preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Friday.
