FDL Man Charged With Arson

Depressed, out of work, and hooked on heroin a 28-year-old Fond du Lac man set fire to his home at 410 Ellis Street last week. Those are some of the details in the criminal complaint for Colin Habram who was charged yesterday in Fond du Lac County Court for the April 14th fire. Bond was set at $50,000 cash. Habram was charged with two arson-related counts, and one count each of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety and intentionally mistreating animals. A cat and dog died in the fire and a tenant wasn’t home. According to the complaint the home was going through foreclosure and Habram had the home and contents, and detached garage insured for over $375,000. Habram admitted to using lighter fluid on a small fire that was already going in an ashtray in a spare bedroom and then started another fire in his own bedroom.
