FDL Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A 32-year-old Fond du Lac man is facing attempted 1st degree intentional homicide charges for allegedly shooting another man in the abdomen during a scuffle outside a city tavern. Bond has been set at $1 million cash for Antino Jones who made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County Court Tuesday morning. Jones is facing 10 felony and 2 misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident that began inside the 2.0 Alehouse on November 19th. According to the criminal complaint he was asked to leave the bar because he was wearing a handgun in a hip holster. While outside the bar he got into a scuffle with another man that had been inside the tavern. That scuffle ended with the other man being shot in the abdomen. The victim told investigators the shot struck his liver, intestines and colon. He was carrying a baseball bat to protect himself from Jones who he knew had a gun. Jones allegedly fired three shots. One struck the victim and another struck the rear of the vehicle that took the victim to St. Agnes Hospital. The confrontation happened near the intersection of Western Avenue and Oak Street across from the Fond du Lac County Jail. Jones gun jammed several times while he was pointing it at the victim. Jones was reportedly “very drunk” during the incident. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 18th.
