FDL Man Facing Charges For Nearly Running Down Officers

The cash bond for a 67-year-old Fond du Lac man who allegedly nearly ran down two Fond du Lac Police officers last week has been adjusted. Bond was originally set at $125,000 for Michael Schultz, but during his initial hearing Wednesday it was reduced to $45,000 cash. Police were at his home last Thursday to pick him up for a theft by contractor charge Glendale Police wanted him on. When he saw two police cars at his home he nearly struck the officers leaving the scene. He eventually returned to his home and was taken into custody. Charges he’s facing include 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer, and obstructing an officer. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 30th.
