FDL Man Sentenced to Prison for Fatal Heroin Overdose

A Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to prison for his
role in the overdose death of a woman in 2014. Shannon M. Carlson was sentenced
in Fond du Lac County Court Wednesday to six years in prison and another six
years of extended supervision. Carlson was convicted of Reckless Homicide on
April 19th for his role in delivering heroin to Jenna Reynolds, who
overdosed in September of 2014. District Attorney Eric Toney said “Jenna would
have been 34 years old today, and her death is a heartbreaking reminder of the
destruction heroin continues to cause in our community in tearing apart
families.” Toney praised the work of a former law student intern – Tessa Button
– who is now an assistant District Attorney in Marinette County – for helping
investigators learn how Reynolds died. He also thanked the Fond du Lac Police
Department, Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office and Forensic
Toxicologist Sara Riley for their investigative work in the case.
