FDL Man Sentenced to Prison on Gun and Drug Charges

A 38-year-old Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to prison
on gun and drug charges. Joshua Klein was sentenced Wednesday to more than 18
years in prison and was ordered to serve five years of extended supervision.
Investigators say Klein was in possession of both marijuana and heroin in
August of 2018 with the intent to sell it. Klein, who had multiple prior felony
convictions – including unlawful possession of a firearm and drug trafficking –
was again unlawfully possessing two guns in connection to drug dealing. It was
discovered a co-conspirator, identified as 46-year-old Kerry Birkholz, purchased
the guns and gave them to Klein. Birkholz has also pled guilty to drug and
weapons charges and is awaiting sentencing.
