FDL Man Who Was Subject Of Silver Alert Found Safe

A 68-year-old Fond du Lac man who was
the subject of a Silver Alert Saturday morning has been located in Milwaukee
area. A statewide alert was issued for Steven Koenig. Friday night family
members reported him missing. He was found safe in the Milwaukee area Saturday
morning. A gas station attendant recognized Koenig’s picture from a lottery
terminal and alerted authorities. The state lottery is a Silver Alert partner.
The state’s Department of Justice issued the Silver Alert. According to it
witnesses reported seeing him on foot trying to hitchhike. It was believed he
was trying to get to Mequon.

Active STATEWIDE Silver Alert issued for missing Fond du Lac man Steve Koenig. Mr. Koenig is ON FOOT but the alert is being issued statewide due to witness reports that Mr. Koenig was attempting to hitchhike. It is unknown if he received a ride and if so, where he is. He was reportedly trying to get to the Mequon (Ozaukee Co.) area. 



If you saw Mr. Koenig or possibly gave him a ride, please contact Fond du Lac PD at 920-906-5555. He is 68, a white male, 5’9″ and 220. He was last seen wearing a dark blue coat, blue jeans and Velcro shoes. He wears glasses and uses a 4 point cane/ walker.
