FDL Memorial Day Parade And Ceremony

The Fond du Lac Memorial Day Parade will begin lining up at 9:30 this morning at Guindon Blvd and South Main Street. The parade will start at 10 a.m. at that location.  It will head north on Main Street ending at Veterans Park.  The VFW is the host organization this year and VFW member and World War II Air Corps veteran, Robert Plummer will be the Parade Marshall.  Bands will include Fond du Lac High School Band, Horace Mann High School Band and the Fond du Lac Combined Middle School bands. For the Memorial Day program, Master of Ceremonies will be Joel Walker, Navy Vietnam Veteran and Past VFW State Commander.  Pastor Heath Perry of Calvary Cross Church in Fond du Lac will give the Invocation and Benediction.  Keynote speaker will be Aaron Sadoff, Gulf War veteran, VFW member and Superintendant of North Fond du Lac School District.  Other honored guests will be Fond du Lac County Executive Allen Buechel, Fond du Lac City Manager Joseph Moore, Fond du Lac Police Chief William Lamb, State Senator Dan Feyen and State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt.  Music at the program will be provided by the Fond du Lac High School Band.
