FDL PD Officer Injured During Early Morning Arrest

One officer was injured during an early Thursday morning arrest in Fond du Lac.

Officers observed a truck Thursday, June 16, 2022 at approximately 3:44 a.m., that was being driven without any license plates. Moments later the Officer noticed the same male pushing the same pick-up truck by hand northbound on Doty Street just north of W. Johnson Street.

The Officer made contact with the 29-year-old Hilbert male while the vehicle was being pushed, when the male suddenly took off running, heading south.

Two Officers gave chase on foot and caught up to suspect in the parking lot of Kwik Trip, 158 N. Main Street.

Upon contact, the male punched a FDLPD Officer in the neck area and physically resisted during arrest. During the course of the investigation, Officers learned the male had initially provided a false name. Additionally, Officers located methamphetamine and other associated drug paraphernalia inside the truck.

The 29-year-old male was arrested on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Battery to Law Enforcement Officer, two counts of Bail Jumping, Obstructing/Resisting, and Operating while Revoked 18th offense.

No further details or information are being released at this time.

The FDLPD Officer received minor injuries and the male suspect was
transported to St. Agnes/SSM Health with minor injuries. The City of Fond du Lac Police Department was assisted by the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue.
