FDL PD SWAT Team Responds to Domestic Incident

A 35-year-old man from Fond du Lac is in jail after a domestic violence incident at a home on north Boardman Street Saturday evening. Fond du Lac Police were first called to the scene just after 5:30 pm for a report of a physical domestic violence situation. A witness reported a woman was trying to lock herself and her children in her car, but the man grabbed the woman by her hair and dragged her out of the car, forcing her and the children back inside the house. Officers on scene learned the man was known to have weapons and had a violent history, so the Fond du Lac Police SWAT Team was activated. The SWAT Team made entry to the home around 8:15 pm and took the man into custody. He was transported for medical attention and faces criminal charges related to the incident. The woman and three children, ages two, five and six were escorted from the home and are believed to be uninjured. City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.
