FDL Plan Commission Recommends Special Use Permit Approval For Marian University

Fond du Lac’s Plan Commission is recommending the City Council approve a special use permit for Marian University. The permit would allow Marian to expand its science building at 45 South National Avenue. City Principal Planner Joellyn Dahlin says the building hasn’t been upgraded since its initial construction. The commission gave their approval Monday and is forwarding their recommendation to the City Council. The commission gave their unanimous support. The City Council will take up the recommendation at their Wednesday, July 26th meeting. Dahlin expects the Council to approve the special use permit. The current science building is 30,500 square feet in size. The new addition would be 18,400 square feet. Marian will use funds from a capital campaign to pay for it.
