FDL Police Announce Arrests In Logan Foster Homicide

Update:

Fond du Lac Police late Friday morning arrested two Fond
du Lac men suspected of robbing and murdering 30-year-old Logan Foster this
past September. His body was found in the parking lot across from the Press Box
Tavern the morning of September 23rd. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says
surveillance photos they released in November of two men led to tips and
through their investigation the 22 and 23-year-old men became suspects in
Foster’s death. Police allege the two suspects, identified as 22-year-old Devon
Neuman and 23-year-old Jesse Schultz began talking with Foster that morning at
the tavern and walked together across the street where Foster was shot twice
and killed while they were trying to rob him. Police believe the Neuman and
Schultz originally walked to the vacant lot for drug related reasons. Assistant
Chief Klein says they are pleased they may be able to bring some justice to
Foster’s family. Neuman and Schultz are being held in the Fond du Lac County
Jail on charges of being party to the crime of first degree intentional
homicide and armed robbery. Police Chief Bill Lamb credited the work of all
involved in the investigation, in particular lead investigator Matt Bobo,
District Attorney Eric Toney and Deputy District Attorney Dennis Krueger.

At approximately 10:30AM on Friday, January 19, 2018, the City of Fond du Lac Police Department arrested two Fond du Lac men for the September 23, 2017, homicide of Logan C. Foster. The men, ages 22 and 23 are Fond du Lac residents and each is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of:

·         Party to the Crime of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide

·         Party to the Crime of Robbery

The identification of the suspects was eventually obtained after the Police Department publicly released an image acquired from an exterior security camera in the area that showed both men walking in the area where Mr. Foster’s body was discovered. As the investigation continued, each became suspects in the murder.

The Department alleges that the suspects and Mr. Foster began talking with one another in the area of 251 Forest Avenue at approximately 12:30AM on September 23, 2017, and that they then walked together across the street to a vacant lot located at 260 Forest Avenue. There, it is believed that the suspects attempted to rob Mr. Foster, that a physical altercation ensued, and that Mr. Foster was shot twice and killed. It is believed that the men originally walked to the vacant lot for drug related reasons.

No further details or information will be released prior to the issuance of a criminal complaint.

“Mr. Foster’s death and the circumstances we believe were involved in his murder are tragic, and we continue to hold Mr. Foster’s family, friends, and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. Through the persistence and dedication of the members of the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office who were involved in this investigation, two individuals that we believe played a role in the robbery and murder of Mr. Foster have now been arrested. I want to commend all of those individuals for their work leading to the arrest of the suspects, and in particular Detective Matt Bobo, the lead investigator in this case, as well as District Attorney Eric Toney and Deputy District Attorney Dennis Krueger.”- Chief William Lamb – City of Fond du Lac Police Department
