FDL Police Carry Out Search Warrant at 6th Street Home, Man Arrested

A 23-year-old fugitive from Arizona was taken into custody
as a result of a search warrant at a home in Fond du Lac this (Monday)
afternoon. The Fond du Lac Police SWAT team executed a search warrant at the
home on 6th Street just before 2:30 PM. Police say the nature of the investigation is weapons
related and was also an effort to apprehend the male fugitive. That man has
been identified as Juan E. Monjaras – who was wanted on a felony parole warrant
from Arizona. Eight people have been detained as part of the ongoing
investigation, but no further details on arrests are available. All individuals in the home surrendered peacefully and without incident.

Because the search warrant was firearms-related, residents
in the area of 6th Street and Marr Street were asked to shelter in
place in their homes during the investigation. An all-clear was given once it
was determined that no further danger existed.

Assisting Fond du Lac Police with the search warrant were
the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office,
Wisconsin State Patrol, City of Ripon Police, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue and
the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit.
