FDL Police Chief Gives City Council Crime Statistics

Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb gave the City Council an update on the annual crime statistics this week. Lamb said both forcible rapes and aggravated assaults increased in 2015. There were 41 forcible rapes last year an increase of 27 percent. Lamb says unfortunately 70 percent of those rapes involved children. In 2015 there were also 111 aggravated assaults compared to 98 in 2014. Lamb says there was a bit of good news. He says there were 1,003 property crimes last year, which is the lowest amount since 2008. That is a 19 percent decrease over that period of time.
