FDL Police Investigating Attempted Child Enticement Incident

Fond du Lac Police are investigating an attempted child
enticement incident that happened Saturday evening.


According to a news release, the incident happened between
5:30 and 6 pm in an alley way between East Johnson Street and East Follett
Street. A witness told police they saw a male subject in a pickup stop and talk
to a three-year-old child that was playing near the alley. The witness saw the
driver open the door to the truck while talking to the child. Police say the
witness confronted the driver of the truck, who then took off through the alley
toward Follett Street.


The suspect’s vehicle is described as a dark blue Chevy
Silverado extended cab, with a light tint on the front and back windows, chrome
strips along the bottom and alloy wheels. The witness also reported seeing a
bumper sticker on the back of the truck that read “Teachers Pet”.


The suspect was described as a white, heavy-set man in his
mid to late 50’s. Police say he is around 5-foot-six inches tall, with white,
stubby facial hair. He was last seen wearing a checkered shirt and glasses with
circle-shaped lenses. The man also has a birth mark on his face by his left
eye.
