FDL Police Officer Promoted To Detective

Chief of Police Aaron Goldstein is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer Christopher Deering to the rank of Detective.

In a press release issued Monday afternoon, it stated Christopher Deering started working for the Fond du Lac Police Department in 2010 as a Community Service Officer while he was a Criminal Justice student at Marian University.

Detective Deering joined the Department in 2012 as a Police Officer. In 2013 he joined the Domestic Violence Intervention Team in an effort to further help survivors of domestic violence and offer additional support and community resources.

In 2014 Detective Deering became certified as a Drug Recognition Expert and in 2015 was certified as an OWI/SFST (Operating while Impaired) Instructor. Detective Deering is currently the department’s Drone and Robot Unit Coordinator.

In his most recent assignment Detective Deering was assigned to the Street Crimes Unit and Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group – Drug Unit.

Detective Deering earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Marian University (Fond du Lac, WI). Detective Deering also served active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 2005 – 2009 and was stationed primarily in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was deployed to Iraq from February 2007 – March 2008.
