FDL Police Receive Several Reports of Gun Shots Monday Night

No one was hurt when shots were fired late Monday night in Fond du Lac. The first report was in the 500 block of Fourth Street. Police found shell casings from a handgun, but no property damage. That report came in at 10:19 p.m. Assistant Police Chief Steve Thiry says over the next hour they got 15 more reports of shots fired in the central part of the City. He says, “It is uncertain as to whether or not they were one incident just heard throughout the City or there were multiple other incidents. But we did respond to each one of those complaints and did check the areas.” Officers found no shell casings or property damage in those areas. They do have a vehicle description from the first incident on Fourth Street. He says, “The only information we have of a possible suspect vehicle is that it may be a dark-colored passenger car, but anybody that has any information that can help us out giving us information as to who or why this occurred last night they can contact Detective Steve Kaufman he is the lead for this investigation.” Detective Kaufman can be reached at (920) 322-3725 or you can call the crime alert number at 322-3740.  

Fond du Lac Police received several reports of gun shots being fired late Monday night. According to police logs, the first report came in around 10:17 pm in the 500 block of Fourth Street. Several other people reported hearing gun shots fired, with around 12 calls coming in to the dispatch center between 10:50 and 11:05 pm Monday.
