FDL Public Library Idea Studio A Resource For Exploring Creativity

Music, art, jewelry, and more were made at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s new Idea Studio during its grand opening Saturday. Library Director Jon Mark Bolthouse says it is what is typically called a maker space and in addition to a digital studio, 3-D printers, sewing, and kitchen demonstration area has other space where people can get creative for free. He says it’s a real different idea of what the library can be for the community. Before he became a librarian Bolthouse was a professional musician. He says he will try out other creative stations in the Idea Studio, but his favorite area is the digital recording studio. The Idea Studio is located in the lower level of the downtown library. It was paid for through private donations and grants. Picture above Library Director Jon Mark Bolthouse and Chris Topel.
