FDL Reads Plans Events Around Thunder Dog

Events are being planned for October for this year’s Fond du Lac Reads book Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog and the Triumph Of Trust At Ground Zero. Fond du Lac Public Library Community Information Coordinator Terri Fleming says the author Michael Hingson got out of one of the towers in New York thanks to his guide dog Roselle. She says Hingson tells his story, but also makes a point don’t underestimate what a person can accomplish even those with handicaps. She says they are planning a number of activities for Saturday, October 12th around the theme of the book including having the Wisconsin Council on the Blind on hand, presenting information on disaster preparedness, fostering a pet and sharing stories about what people remember about 9-11.
