FDL Reads Program Filled With Wonder

The Fond du Lac Public Library is embracing the Choose Kind movement through this month with its Fond du Lac Reads program. The book selected is “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio. It is about Auggie, a 10-year-old boy born with Treacher Collins Syndrome, which left him with severe facial deformities. It follows him through his first days at prep school. In the book a teacher says, “When given the choice between being right, or being kind, choose kind.” Library Community Information Coordinator Terri Fleming says a recent Fond du Lac High School grad that has Treacher Collins Syndrome brought the book to their attention. A number of events are scheduled at the Library and in the community as part of the Fond du Lac Reads program including a discussion on the book and a short video at the Library on Thursday, October 26th at 6 p.m. A full schedule is available in the calendar section of the Library’s website.
