FDL SB President Appointed To WASB Board Of Directors

The Fond du Lac School District is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Hayes, Board of Education President, was recently appointed to the Wisconsin Association of School Board’s (WASB) Board of Directors.  In this capacity, Mrs. Hayes will represent the State of Wisconsin’s Region 7 which is comprised of 26 area school districts as well as CESA 6 in Oshkosh.

Mrs. Hayes has served on Fond du Lac’s Board of Education since 1986 and has been actively involved with the WASB since that time. She has represented the District at the WASB Delegate Assembly for over 20 years and is a past member of the Policy and Resolutions Committee. She has earned the WASB Level V Award and, this past January, moderated the Presidents’ discussion group at the 2014 WASB Education Convention.

Her years of continuous service have consistently demonstrated her strong belief in public education and child advocacy.  “Children are our future and public education needs to remain vibrant in order to prepare them for their post-secondary and career pursuits,” Mrs. Hayes maintains.  “I’m honored to represent Fond du Lac and public education throughout Wisconsin through serving on the WASB Board of Directors.”

In news related to this appointment, Mrs. Hayes contributed to a new Board member orientation at CESA 6 on April 29 and participated in a strategic planning session for the WASB on May 2 and 3. She shared, “I’m truly enjoying these experiences and look forward to my continued leadership opportunities in my community and via the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.”
