FDL School Board Approves Principal Resignation

The Fond du Lac School Board will be looking for a new principal at the Sabish Middle School before this fall. The School Board Monday night approved the resignation of Principal Torrie Rochon-Luft who will be leaving at the end of June to become a principal in Hortonville. Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert says she did a good job for the district the past six years. He says, “Certainly thank her for the six years with us. The culture at Sabish, the academic outcomes at Sabish everything has continued to improve under her leadership. We will certainly miss her, but wish her well in her new opportunity.” The school board also took some time to remember former State Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager a Fond du Lac native and Goodrich High School graduate whose parents were teachers. Sebert says Lautenschlager made major strides during her life and always had the City’s best interest at heart. He says, “And obviously education in the home growing up with two parents that were in education. Cancer is a terrible thing. Yeah, always had an interest in everything Fond du Lac certainly.” The board also approved a high school trip to China for nine days in June of 2019.
