FDL School Board, Superintendent Receive Kudos

The Fond du Lac School Board met for their final regularly scheduled meeting of August Monday night, and while COVID-19 discussions were not on the agenda, a few audience members still used the public portion of the meeting to speak to the board about the virus.

Bethany Guell had a short message for the Board, “I don’t know how many thank you e-mails you’ve received, so instead of an email I wanted to personally come forward this evening and say thank you.“ Guell said there were a great many things to be thankful for. “Thank you for your time. Thank you for respecting everyone’s sides or everyone’s opinions, everyone’s thoughts, and taking into consideration parent’s feelings, teacher’s feelings, the district’s feelings as to what your decision and choice has been for the re-entry plan.”

Guell also had praise for new District Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Fleig. “Thank you for the last board meeting. For basically standing in your position. I greatly appreciate it. I feel like you have a great head on your shoulders and I look forward to the things that you have for our school district in the future.”

The first day of school in the District is set for next Wednesday, September 1
