FDL School District Announces Principal Assignments

As the door to another school year closes, the Fond du Lac School District is excited to announce new assignments for three of our administrative staff members for the upcoming school year. Brad Ebert (pictured above), current Assistant Principal at Theisen Middle School, will assume the duties of Roberts Elementary School Principal.  Brad earned his Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Urban Education, both from UW-Milwaukee. Dr. Ebert has served at Theisen since 2010 and led the District’s elementary summer school program as well. He began his career as an elementary school teacher in Manitowoc School District from 2003-2010.  Dr. Jim Sebert, Superintendent of Schools stated, “Brad is a motivational and inspirational instructional leader.  His commitment to kids, relationships and student learning will ensure that all Roberts’ stakeholders continue to be engaged in the educational process.”

Matthew Steinbarth, currently Woodworth Middle School’s Assistant Principal, will step into the role of Principal at Lakeshore Elementary School.  Mr. Steinbarth has a Master’s degree in Education from Marian University and received his Administrator license from Concordia University. He has been with the Fond du Lac School District since December 1999 as a teacher at Parkside Elementary School and then as a Math teacher at Woodworth Middle School in August 2000. He remained in that position until he became an Assistant Principal at Woodworth in August 2013.  Dr. Sebert exclaimed, “Matt will bring a tremendous amount of energy, enthusiasm and instructional leadership capacity to Lakeshore. He will unite all stakeholders as Lakeshore’s students, families and staff continue their pursuit of excellence together.”

Michelle Hagen, current Assistant Principal at Fond du Lac High School, will become the new Fond du Lac High School Principal.  Ms. Hagen has Master’s degrees in Administrative Leadership and Social Work. Her career in education began in October 1990 as an instructional assistant in the Milwaukee Public School system and, in April 1994, she became an elementary teacher. She moved into an administrative role as Assistant Principal at Forest Home Avenue School in April 2003 and was promoted to Principal at Mitchell Elementary/Middle School in 2007. Michelle joined the Fond du Lac School District in August 2013 after 23 years of stellar service in the Milwaukee Public Schools.  Dr. Sebert noted, “Michelle’s talent in building relationships and her caring, genuine personality will engage staff and students in building a stronger school culture while her instructional leadership skills, organizational skills and intense work ethic will help move Fondy High forward in improving student learning outcomes.  She carries a deep passion and commitment to kids and education that will be infectious.”
