FDL School District Consider Employee Leave Bank

The Fond du Lac School District is looking at the concept of establishing an employee leave bank. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says newer employees may not have enough time accumulated to an extended leave if the need arises. He says that could mean you haven’t qualified yet for family medical leave in your first year or maybe you’ve had some challenges and you are out of sick leave and other types of discretionary leave. He says if they had an employee leave bank other employees could donate some of their accumulated leave to the bank to help out others. Sebert says they would have to work out how it would work for their various employee groups. He says they have been talking about the concept and have a committee that is looking into it.
