FDL School District Will Be Getting Less State Aid

Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert says the school district will be getting about $1.4 million less in state aid for the upcoming school year. He says the figures released by the state’s Department of Public Instruction for school aid before the state budget was passed and signed into law were accurate. He says they will be getting about $1.4 million less, which was about in the middle of what they figured the cut in aid would be. He says over the years they’ve not filled some teaching positions when people have retired and consolidated other positions, which lessens the impact when state aid is cut. Sebert says they do want to avoid cutting any current employees, which he says they work very diligently to accomplish.
