FDL Shooting Suspect Charged

Bond was set at $50,000 cash this morning for the
34-year-old Fond du Lac man suspected of shooting off a gun following an
altercation in downtown Fond du Lac early last Saturday morning. A Fond du Lac
man escaped serious injury when one of the shots allegedly fired by William
Wilcox was deflected by his belt buckle. The incident happened around the time
bars were closing in the area of Main and 2nd Street. Wilcox was charged in Fond
du Lac County Court with two counts of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety
and one count each of injury by negligent use of a weapon, operating a firearm
while under the influence of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed
weapon. A preliminary hearing is scheduled next Thursday.
