FDL Woman Arraigned On Felony Theft Charges

The 53-year-old Fond du Lac woman suspected of stealing more than $300,000 from a 97-year-old woman she was caring for was arraigned this week in Fond du Lac County Court. The Court entered not-guilty pleas on behalf of Margaret Meyers who is charged with three felony theft counts. According to the criminal complaint Meyers is accused of taking nearly $311,000 out of the woman’s two credit union accounts over a three and a half year period.  A County social worker contacted Fond du Lac Police after getting a call from a credit union official with concerns about the elderly woman’s account. Meyers told a police detective she gave the money to her son who had a drug habit and kept giving it to him because he was threatening her.
