FDL Woman Convicted In Drug OD Death

A Fond du Lac woman who pled not guilty to being involved in a 2018 drug overdose death, was convicted Tuesday. Cara Zech was charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the 2018 death of Steven Compton. Back on July 28, 2018, police were called to the 500 block of 8^th St. for reports of an overdose. Officers found an unconscious Compton, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Zech allegedly made numerous trips back and forth to Milwaukee to purchase drugs. No sentencing date has been set for Zech.
