FDL Woman Injured After Pick Up Strikes Tree

Fond du Lac Police have released more details about a roll over accident on 7th Street Friday morning. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says a 43-year-old Fond du Lac woman was driving her pickup truck and swerved to avoid hitting a squirrel. Her truck jumped the curb and hit a tree in the terrace causing the pick up to roll over onto the driver’s side. Fire and Rescue extricated her from the truck and took her to the St. Agnes Hospital’s helipad via ambulance. From there Flight for Life flew her to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with critical injuries. The accident was reported at 9:30 a.m. It happened on 7th Street between Ellis Street and South Park Avenue. 

Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue officials say they had to free a Fond du Lac woman from an overturned van after it crashed into a tree at 7th Street and Park Avenue Friday morning. The accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. The woman swerved the van and it rolled on its side after hitting a tree on the side of the road. She was taken to St. Agnes Hospital where Flight for Life flew her to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Her injuries were serious, but not life-threatening. Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue photo.
