FDL Woman Sentenced For Helping Hide A Corpse

Tina Ewell of Fond du Lac pulled tissues from a box and dabbed at tears as she was sentenced Thursday for helping her sister hide the body of a murder victim. Fond du Lac County Judge Peter Grimm said she had dug the hole for herself as he sentenced her to two years in the County Jail and five years of probation. District Attorney Eric Toney agreed with the judge’s assessment. He said she obviously loves her family, but made a decision to help her sister putting her over her husband, her children, her family and her friends so she put herself in that position. In November of 2013 Ewell’s sister, Eve Nance, killed her husband Tim Nance and Ewell helped her in an effort to conceal the body. Nance was sentenced last May for the murder.  She got 25 years to life in prison. Ewell will also have to pay $2,500 in fines plus court costs. She will be on work release and gets credit for the 55 days she has already spent in jail.
