FDL Woman Wins Backyard Grief Relief Makeover
Kathy Osborn, of Fond du Lac, was drawn as the grand prize winner of Agnesian HealthCare’s Grief Relief: Rebuilding Families “One Backyard at a Time” fund-raiser through the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation.
Osborn’s grand prize, valued at $5,000 and donated by Stuart’s Landscaping & Garden Center, includes a custom landscape construction (softscape) package.
“We are very fortunate to have such strong supporters that have either experienced the program’s benefits firsthand, or know the healing effects it has for families going through a significant loss,” says Rita Meidam, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation executive director. “In the end, it is those families – both adults and children – that are the ultimate winners.”
Agnesian HealthCare’s Grief Relief offers free facilitated peer support groups for children, teens, young adults and their families who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives.
“Grief Relief is truly blessed not only with the individuals who helped make this year’s fund-raiser a success, but for the countless volunteers who donated their precious time and talents to those individuals in our community who are grieving,” says Sister Joyann Repp, MSN, RN, Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Hope bereavement coordinator.
Thanks to the fund-raiser, Grief Relief will receive more than $15,900.
Other prize winners include: second prize: Pat and Tom Cook, Hartford; third prize: McKenna Cardinal, Fond du Lac; fourth prize: Judith Kincannon, Fond du Lac; and fifth prize: Jim Daleiden, Fond du Lac. The winner of the candy drawing was Ed Barnes, Fond du Lac.
