FDL Woman’s Attempted Murder Case Reopened

A 27-year-old Fond du Lac woman serving
time in Taycheedah Correctional has withdrawn the “no contest” plea that sent
her there for 14 years. Kenna Bowe was sentenced in November of 2012 for trying
to kill her 6-year-old daughter with what was described as a potentially fatal
dose of sleeping pills. During the same night her 28-year-old boyfriend awoke
to find her sitting on his chest with a butcher knife pointed down at him. He
suffered cuts to his hands. During a hearing last December a toxicology expert
testified the dose of sleeping pills could not have killed the girl. Bowe has
been removed from Taycheedah and is being held in the Fond du Lac County
Jail on a $200,000 cash bond. A status conference in the case is scheduled for
February 26th. Bowe was upset about losing her job and believed her boyfriend
was breaking up with her.
