FDL’s C.D. Smith Construction Awarded Another Foxconn Contract

Fond du Lac-based C.D. Smith Construction is one of eight
companies awarded contracts as Foxconn Technology Group continues construction
on its factory complex in Mount Pleasant. This round of contracts
deal with the power substation to be built at the site, which will be just
across the highway from the larger substation that American Transmission
Company is building. According to a news release, C.D. Smith was awarded a
contract for concrete work, building enclosures and interiors. The company was
previously awarded a contract in May for excavation and concrete foundation
work at the site. This round of subcontracts is worth more than $15 million,
and Foxconn has said it has awarded subcontracts totaling more than $175 million
so far.
