Federal Funding Aid helps with Local Bridge Repairs

Wisconsin is receiving over $227 million dollars in new federal funding for the state’s roads and bridges – and several local spots will be fixed up. Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt says the boost helps with transportation projects around the state, including five bridges in Fond du Lac County. The Division Street bridge over the Fond du Lac River and the Oak Grove Road bridge over the Rock River in the Town of Alto will be two of the targets. The Division Street bridge was built in 1968 – and recent inspections have rated it as structurally inefficient and functionally obsolete. Planning will begin after approval from the Joint Finance Committee.
