Feyen Bill Would Put Inmates Back To Work Earlier

Recognizing a worker shortage State Senator Dan Feyen is the author of legislation that would allow for the early release of inmates back into the workforce. The State Senator for the 18th District says it would allow those in the final year of their sentence to be sent back to their county of origin where they would be housed in the county jail with work release privileges. He says it would need the blessing of that county’s sheriff. He says it would help those inmates find employment and incorporate them back into society. Feyen says it would also give inmates the tools they need to make an easier transition from prison.
