Final Downtown FDL Farmer’s Market of the Season on Saturday

It’s the final Downtown Fond du Lac Farmer’s Market of
the season on Saturday. The outdoor market will complete its run for the year
on Main Street in Fond du Lac, after what’s expected to be another successful
summer and early fall.

Amy Hansen, Executive Director for the Downtown Fond du
Lac Partnership, tells us the market has done very well in fitting the mission
of what they’re trying to do downtown. “Our goal was to basically get people
out of their cars, and walk around, and better understand the businesses that
we have available,” Hansen said. “Through our reporting, 55 percent of the people
that come to the Farmer’s Market stop in to one of the brick and mortar
businesses, and that’s our overall goal.” Hansen says since the market’s move
to downtown in 2015, the spending data and overall attendance continue to grow
each year – with an average of around three-thousand people showing up to the
market weekly during the summer months.

The final market of the year runs from 8 until Noon on
Saturday, with the annual “Monster March” – Trick-or-Treating downtown – taking
place during the market from 10 am until Noon.
