Fink Runs For Third Term As Sheriff

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink says he’s learned how much support he has in his campaign for reelection. He says that includes the backing of a lot of current and former members of the Sheriff’s Department is his race against Fond du Lac Police Detective Bill Ledger. He says he’s also gotten the endorsements of former Sheriff’s Jim Gilmore and Gary Pucker, County Executive Al Buechel, District Attorney Eric Toney, Former District Attorney Tom Storm and the North Fond du Lac Police Union. Fink says there’s a lot of area to cover for the Sheriff’s Department and they rely on community policing. He says a day shift deputy last month came to the aid of a deputy who gotten into a scuffle with two men investigating a noise complaint. He admits Ledger as a drug investigator has more knowledge about the drug problem, but Fink says being Sheriff encompasses more than that. Next Tuesday is the primary election with the winner in the Sheriff’s race facing no opposition in November.
