Fire At International Papers

Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to a call at International Paper at 981 South Hickory for an air compressor fire. Fire Department officials say workers used extinguishers and pretty much had the fire under control when they arrived. The plant was evacuated. No injuries were reported. There was extensive damage to the industrial-sized air compressor. The time of the fire call was just before 6:30 Thursday night.
