Fire Damages Detached Workshop in the Town of Calumet

A detached workshop at a home in the Town of Calumet sustained
significant damage in a fire Thursday afternoon.

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along
with Fire Departments from the Town of Calumet and Mount Calvary and Mount
Calvary Ambulance responded to the fire on Artesia Beach Road just before 3:30
Thursday afternoon.

A news release says the property owner called in the fire
to 9-1-1 dispatchers. Investigators determined the owner had been using a blow
torch near the structure when the fire started. The fire is considered to be
accidental and is not considered suspicious. No one was injured in the fire.
