Fire Damages Ellis Street House Saturday

A dumpster fire Sunday evening spread to a house at 143 Ellis Street in Fond du Lac.

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue crews responded to the scene shortly after 6:30 PM to find a large dumpster fully engulfed in flames.

Due to the dumpster’s proximity to the house, the fire was able to spread up the side of the house.

Three people inside the residence were able to escape prior to the fire department arriving on scene.

Fire fighters were able to get the fire under control within 15 minutes, but not before extensive damage occurred to the exterior, as well as the attic portion of the house.

No injuries were reported and Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue is investigating to find a possible cause as to how the fire started.
