Fire Damages Home in NFDL

A home in North Fond du Lac was damaged in a fire early Sunday morning.

Firefighters from the North Fond du Lac Fire Department were called to the scene on Broadway Street near Thurke Avenue just after 1:30 AM Sunday for a report of a fire inside a home.

According to a press release, fire crews arriving on scene found smoke visible outside the home, and located the fire in the kitchen. The fire was put out, but not before it caused “extensive damage” to the kitchen and heat and smoke damage to the rest of the home.

The only person inside the home was able to get out safely. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, which remains under investigation.

Also assisting at the scene were City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue, Van Dyne Fire, North Fond du Lac Police, North Fond du Lac Public Works, RIT Team 1 and Alliant Energy.
