Fire Damages Home In Waupun

Fire damaged a home at 151 Olmstead Street in Waupun Tuesday morning. Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says when firefighters arrived smoke and flames were coming out of a first floor window. Crews entered the home and were able to contain the fire to the kitchen and an adjoining dining room. Brett Purcell, who lived in the home, was taken to Columbia St. Mary’s in Milwaukee with undisclosed injuries.  Kristin Purcell owns the home. Fire, smoke and water damage made it uninhabitable. Damage estimates were put at $55,000 to $65,000. The time of the fire call was 6:10 a.m.
