Fire Displaces FDL Family

A kitchen fire displaced a Fond du Lac family Monday afternoon. City Fire and Rescue responded to a home at 30 East Tenth Street at 4;47 p.m. The fire was in the lower unit of the four-unit home. The fire was quickly extinguished, but caused heat and smoke damage to the unit rendering the home uninhabitable until it can be repaired. No one was at home at the time of the blaze. One adult and three children were displaced by the blaze. The American Red Cross is assisting them. A cat was rescued and received oxygen through a special mask for pets. Smoke alarms were sounding when the fire was discovered. The cause of the fire is being investigated. (Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue photo)
