Fire Displaces Residents In Ripon

A Friday morning fire has left a number of residents in Ripon without housing.

Firefighters were called to the 500 block of Metomen St. just before 9:35 Friday, for reports of a fire on the first floor of a structure.

Once on the scene, the fire was located in a bedroom, located near the back of the residence.

Fire Rescue personnel were able to extinguish the blaze, which also caused smoke damage to most of the house.

There were no injuries reported, but there were a number of cats, dogs and hamsters that perished in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but is not thought to be suspicious.
