Fire On McWilliams Street
Fire/Rescue (FDL FR) responded to a report of a fire in residential structure
at
Upon arrival they found fire and smoke coming from the upstairs window of the
home.
fire crews deployed lines to make a transitional attack on the fire. The fire was extinguished quickly, but not
before the upstairs suffered heavy fire and smoke damage. A working smoke detector alerted the
occupants and provided adequate time to exit the home.
FDL FR origin and cause
investigators were on scene, but at this time the cause of the fire is
undetermined. Alliant Energy was called to the scene and secured gas and
electrical services. Fond du Lac Police Department provided scene safety and
traffic control. The Red Cross provided assistance to the family. There were no
injuries reported.
